Cody Gillenwater has grown up in the wrestling world. His wrestling career consists of Youth wrestling starting at the age of 4 and continuing through the 8th grade. From there, he went on to complete a four-year high school career where he was a 4 time Missouri-state qualifier and a 2-time placer for Maryville High School earning 3rd place. He followed that with a five-year collegiate athlete career where he was a national qualifier for University of Central Missouri. He continued as a coach at the college level for two years along with being a strength and conditioning coach for football and wrestling. Then moved to Kansas City to assistant coach at the high school level. As a high school coach he has produced 4 state champions and was awarded Assistant Wrestling Coach of the Year for 2016. He was also the Missouri assistant coach of the year in 2016.
At the college level when Cody was away from the Mat he was completing an Undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and later a graduate degree in Exercise Science. With this background in business and sports management he worked as a manager for Planet Fitness while simultaneously coaching his high school team. Now, his full-time passion is coaching any and all athletes that are ready and willing to improve both on and off the mat. He specializes in functional training (injury prevention), corrective exercises (injury rehab), and sport performance Training.
His mission strives to make everyday a learning experience. The techniques taught in our facility should be utilized in all aspects of life. The dedication, determination, strength and perseverance that we bring to each session: we except to see in each of our students. We hope that with the proper training, each athlete can take those skills into their future and be the best version of themselves.
